Environmental issues have been a focus of numerous compositions. The following works are environmentally inspired:
Earth, the bringer of life (2005). Premiered at the Sydney Town Hall by The
Occasional Sinfonia, conducted by Graham Howard. Scored for large orchestra and pipe organ, and set to projected photography.
Commissioned by the National Parks Association to accompany Holst's The Planets during a concert to promote the creation of a national park in The Pilliga
forest area in NSW. The Planets and Earth, the bringer of life were accompanied by projected images throughout.
The Spirit of The Pilliga (2005). Text and music by Graham Howard. Premiered at the
Sydney Town Hall by The Occasional Sinfonia, conducted by Graham Howard. Scored for soprano soloist, large orchestra, and pipe organ, and set to projected images.
Rain Over Cape York (2007). Premiered at the Sydney Town Hall by The Occassional Sinfonia, conducted by Graham Howard. Scored for large orchestra and pipe
organ.
Commissioned by The Wilderness Society in 2007, for a concert to raise awareness of environmental issues in the Cape York area of Queensland.
